Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment!

It seems to me that the biggest issue a lot of the old media companies are going to have is embracing the idea that my using your content is a plus and not a negative. As long as I am not passing it off as my own or using it for my own monetary gain, having a fan use your content for the express purpose of sharing it with others is a win.

It should be the kind of thing they embrace and promote rather than squash.

P.S. Thanks for the compliment about the kids! They must take after their mother!

I heard Rob Thomas talking about that song and he said that Disney owns the publishing for any song that they use in their movies, so the people probably pulling the plug would be Disney, not Rob Thomas. He's seen stuff people have done using his songs before and he never seemed to mind. He always said he was very flattered. Cute kids, btw!

Yeah its a good post, its part of our culture, we're too polite in the wrong places, and then show no manners when we should. Most of us have learnt that the best way to deal with any problem is to avoid it, unfortunately following this approach means our integrity usually goes out the window.

Recently I've been looking at houses to buy, some houses we look at I'm pretty sure within 5 minutes I won't be buying this house, do I say - ok thanks for your time, not interested, bye. No for some stupid reason, I end up doing the whole tour, wishing it was over, trying to hurry the agent up without seeming rude, Eventually I get in my car bursting from relief. Its just my initial reponse is not really socially acceptable anymore, in this overly polite generation.

Cool thought! I would have initially found the "Ferret People" special to be a little weird. But then again... a lot of what I do could be considered weird. (To my personal friends... I realize I just threw the door wide open with that one... haha)

I too am hopelessly addicted to LOST, 24, Prison Break, Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles, Heroes, and many more.

I'm now a part of the blogging community... which many of my close friends don't really get. It's amazing how hard it is to get people you know to read blogs! I'm also a part of the church community. While the church community is a large one... it narrows when you look at the people that are in the "I work in a church" community.

John, I really love this song.
I'm looking for songs to play at my baby's first birthday party like this one.
I'm not too fond of kiddie tunes and most of our guests will be adults.
Perhaps you can recommend some more songs for me similar to this one.
Thanks

Bob, thanks for your honesty and openness! It is refreshing and sobering at the same time.

Faye, thank you for your encouragement! I think you are right on and it is good to be reminded!

I'm on staff at a church in East Tennessee -- won't give you my whole bio -- but words of wisdom include:

Go with God. You plus Him equals a majority no matter how many tell you you're wrong.

Listen to other church leaders, glean what God confirms in your spirit from them, then dive in. It's a roller coaster ride that is incredibly worth it.
